Apply for Quality Funds

The Quality Improvement Funds of the state of NRW serve to increase the quality of teaching at all levels of the university. Quality improvement funds can be applied for by all teachers in our faculty (either centrally or decentrally, depending on the intended use and user group).

HHU's Central Quality Funds

For inter-faculty measures or projects of special importance, university funds are also available (central QV funds), which are allocated by the HHU Study Commission. The university's QVM guidelines must be observed when submitting and evaluating applications.

Medical Faculty Quality Funds

The decentralized QV funds are primarily available for measures and projects that can improve the quality of teaching at our faculty.

Apply for decentralized QV funds
You submit your application for quality improvement funds to the Commission for Quality Improvement in Teaching and Learning. For this purpose, please fill out the application form available in the download area completely and send it to us in due time (receipt at least 14 days before the meeting date) signed and scanned by e-mail or mail. Your application will then be discussed by the commission and a recommendation will be formulated. The final approval of a proposal is made by the dean. Once the project has been approved, you will receive an approval letter via email. Please understand that the approval process may take some time.

Important notes regarding the application process:
The maximum grant period is two years.
Applications must be received no later than 14 days prior to the meeting dates.
Sufficient lead time of 2-3 months should be allowed, especially when applying for funds for personnel.
For applications over €50,000, a detailed project presentation by the applicant to the Commission is usually expected.
Disbursement of the approved funds
After an award notification, please send all hiring or procurement requests, original invoices, travel expense reports, etc. to implement your measure to the QVM Coordination in the Dean of Students Office for funds confirmation. After review of available funds, requests will be released and forwarded to UKD administration. Any deviating procedure usually results in longer processing times.

QVM Quality Report
Our faculty is obliged to report in an annual report on the measures financed by QVM and the successes achieved as a result in improving teaching and study conditions. We therefore ask you to send us a quality report promptly after completion of your measure. Please use the fillable (also saveable and printable) PDF form for this purpose.

The Commission for Quality Improvement in Teaching and Studies also welcomes additional content such as evaluations, photos, films, etc. documenting your project's success (max. 3 additional DIN-A4 pages).
