The current General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also plays an important role in research since May 25, 2018. The adequate regulation of data protection is a prerequisite for the implementation of research projects, especially when personal data must be used.

Background information on the GDPR for clinical trials, common sources of errors, requirements for patient education for clinical trial subjects, and a checklist for project leaders can be found on the UKD intranet.
