Pregnancy

You are pregnant? - Congratulations. You are on the threshold of a new phase in your life, which will certainly hold many moments of happiness for you and at the same time some challenges.

But there are a few things to keep in mind already during your pregnancy. The protection of expectant mothers and unborn life has top priority. This applies to all areas of life - including your studies. That's why a new Maternity Protection Act came into force on January 1, 2018, which now explicitly includes female students.

In the course of studying medicine or dentistry, hazards to the life and limb of mother and child can occur, for example through contact with fetotoxic substances in internships or the risk of infection when dealing with patients during practical training.

Therefore, if you are pregnant, please contact the responsible contact person in the Office of the Vice Dean for Teaching and Study Quality as early as possible. Only in this way can we optimally protect you and your child and support you in continuing your studies.
