Professor Mayatepek has an extensive publication record of about 400 original papers, is a member of numerous national and international professional societies, book author of standard works in paediatrics and on the editorial board of various paediatric journals. He has received various prizes and awards (e.g. Horst-Bickel-Award, Prize of the Klüh Foundation for the Promotion of Innovation in Science and Research). Main research interests: Metabolic disorders in childhood and adolescence, metabolomics, disorders of insulin secretion, paediatric infectiology, child protection in medicine.
