Communicative competence is one of the eight competence areas of the Düsseldorf Curriculum Medicine. Through practical training with actor-patients, doctor-patient communication is specifically trained and simulated and reflected upon in a safe setting.
Students at HHU's Faculty of Medicine can take courses in the skills lab on a voluntary basis and learn important practical skills for everyday clinical work. The elective courses are offered by student tutors and are not part of the curricular teaching. An overview of the extensive range of courses offered by the skills lab can be found further down on this page.
