Interdisciplinary Interprofessional Clinical Training
starting 7th Semester
This hands-on elective is dedicated to a variety of clinical skills and competencies. The course includes interdisciplinary and interprofessional course and teaching units and provides students with complex hands-on training. The goal of the course is to provide participants:with the opportunity to deepen and broaden their practical knowledge in as wide a range as possible.
Course Units:
- Interprofessional learning using an interprofessional structured patient visit (information collection, problem identification, structured information exchange, documentation, optimization of interprofessional communication) to reduce errors and improve patient safety.
- Case-based auscultation training by means of auscultation trainer (SAM)
- Training of blood sampling on long-term vascular access (Broviac catheter, CVC and port system) using the Chester chest model
- Theory of infusion management
- Interprofessional wound management (tutor wound expert ICW)
- Suture course, button techniques
- i. v. access system on the infant model
If desired, a written examination is possible.
Skills Lab electives are taken as part of the regular elective course load through HIS-LSF.
