In this course, we teach the practical handling of various long-term vascular accesses (CVC, Broviac and port system) using the "Chester chest model". We use the model to train blood sampling using the no-touch technique on the Broviac catheter and the flushing of CVC, Broviac and port systems. We also train the hygiene measures according to the UKD hygiene plan in the handling of long-term vascular accesses. All students have the opportunity to perform the various procedures themselves with the support of tutors.
