iRTG
Integrated Research Training Group (iRTG)
The iRTG trains doctoral and postdoctoral researchers in the interdisciplinary field of diabetes-associated cardiovascular comorbidities. It provides a structured training program that brings together expertise from computer, natural, and medical sciences to address complex biomedical challenges.
Each doctoral researcher is supported by a Thesis Advisory Board consisting of two supervisors and a postdoctoral mentor, ensuring interdisciplinary guidance throughout the project. The scientific curriculum covers cardio-diabetic biology, molecular mechanisms, advanced imaging, fluxomics, and AI-driven data science, equipping trainees with a broad methodological skill set.
In collaboration with the Heine Research Academies, the iRTG also offers comprehensive training in transferable skills, leadership, and career development, preparing participants for successful careers in academia, industry, and beyond.
