REDCap

REDCap is a user-friendly web application for the creation and management of online surveys and data collection forms, especially for medical and translational research projects.

Access authorization and request

REDCap is available at the University Hospital Düsseldorf and the Medical Faculty of the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf exclusively for research and teaching purposes. As a member of HHU's Faculty of Medicine, you generally have access to the REDCap system.

In order to create or edit a project, you must submit a request for access to the corresponding REDCap instance. The application form can be found in the Requests and downloads section. Send the fully completed and signed request for use via the link Submit request. Please enter the keyword REDCap in the subject line to automatically assign your request to the correct OTRS queue and thus avoid delays.

Contact person and support

If you have any questions about REDCap, please contact us via the link on the right.

We will soon provide you with all documents on the REDCap service (operating concept, application for use, etc.) in the Requests and downloads section.

REDCap is provided by the Research IT department as an IT service. This model is also called Software as a Service (SaaS). As an IT service provider, the Research IT department takes care of all aspects of installation and operation. The server hosting REDCap is located in a specially secured network segment (DMZ) of the UKD.

All data that is transmitted to the Research IT department for the creation or release of a REDCap account is stored on a server of the UKD. Only administrators of the Research IT department have access to this data.
