Equipment

Our Core Facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art 3 Tesla MRI system (Siemens Magnetom Trio 3T, software version VB17A). The system supports all standard clinical imaging techniques as well as a broad range of advanced research applications.

For functional brain imaging (fMRI), specialized equipment from NordicNeuroLab is also available. This setup includes an MRI-compatible display for stimulus presentation, response buttons that allow participants to provide precise input during scanning, and a synchronization unit ensuring accurate timing between MRI acquisition and participant responses.

Our 3T MRI system (Siemens Magnetom Trio 3T, Numaris VB17A) is equipped with a wide range of coils for optimal imaging of all body regions. In addition to the integrated spine matrix coil, the system features a body matrix coil, a 12-channel head and neck coil, two flex coils, and an 8-channel knee coil. A transmit/receive head coil (Tx/Rx) is also available if needed.

The MRI system supports standard imaging techniques such as T1- and T2-weighted imaging, as well as advanced methods including DWI, PWI, fMRI, MRS, multi-nuclei imaging, and quantitative imaging (CEST, QSM).

Our fMRI acquisition system from NordicNeuroLab provides a comprehensive solution for functional MRI studies in both clinical and research settings. It includes an MRI-compatible display, the SyncBox for precise synchronization between stimulus presentation and MRI acquisition, the nordicAktiva stimulus software, and response grips for recording participant inputs.

The system enables efficient and accurate fMRI measurements through an automated workflow and is fully compatible with the widely used Presentation software, offering maximum flexibility in designing and conducting fMRI paradigms.
