Electron microscopy

(CFEM)

The Core Facility Electron Microscopy (CFEM) is a department of the Faculty of Medicine at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Its goal is to promote the development and application of electron microscopy within the interdisciplinary fields of life and materials sciences. The electron microscopes are available to all interested research groups and scientific staff of the UKD and HHU as a shared research infrastructure.

We offer expert support and consultation at every stage of project planning, execution, and evaluation. We provide assistance especially in areas such as sample preparation, sectioning techniques, embedding of biological and non-biological materials, drying methods, surface imaging, and 3D reconstructions from nano-tomography data.

Use of the facility is subject to the current usage regulations, with billing according to the applicable fee schedule.

The steering committee of CFEM continuously develops the scientific profile and optimizes the facility's objectives. Scientific director: Prof. Dr. Andreas Reichert, Deputy scientific director: Prof. Dr. Charlotte von Gall.
