Congratulations! The German Radiological Society has awarded PD Dr Alexandra Ljimani, M.Sc., Senior Physician at our Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, the Walter Friedrich Price 2025 for her habilitation thesis 'Functional Non-Contrast Magnetic Resonance Imaging/MRI of the Kidney.' The work, which was accepted at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in 2023, marks a significant advance in the patient-safe, non-invasive diagnosis of kidney diseases. Its focus is on the development and clinical evaluation of innovative MRI techniques that do not require contrast agents while simultaneously enabling a comprehensive assessment of kidney structure and function. The Walter Friedrich Price is endowed with 2,500 euros and is awarded annually during the German Radiology Congress.
